Adult ADHD assessment
We provide attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) assessments for adults.
This is a diagnostic service, not a prescription service. If you would like to explore medication options, we can refer you to a private prescriber.
We provide a comprehensive and streamlined diagnostic assessment pathway for adults. Our adult ADHD assessments are usually conducted over one morning. The appointment is with a clinical psychologist.
Adult ADHD assessments include:
- Initial questionnaires for you to complete and preliminary information gathering, e.g. about family history and early history
- Developmental history
- Primary school, secondary school and further education
- Work history (when relevant)
- Physical, psychological and mental health history
- Adult and childhood ADHD traits using the Diagnostic Interview for ADHD in adults (DIVA-5)
- Impact on life
Corroborative information needs to be considered as part of a thorough assessment, so involvement of a parental figure, school reports or other evidence is really helpful. We understand that adults may struggle to get this evidence and so we assess to the best of our ability without it.
The assessment outcome, our comprehensive written report and recommendations will be provided as soon as possible after the assessment.
