Adult autism assessment
Dr Isobel Robb and her team provide high quality diagnostic assessments for autism.
All our assessments are NICE compliant and are recognised by the NHS, colleges and other organisations.
Our adult autism assessments are led by one of our clinical psychologists. You will first asked to complete some questionnaires at home. On the assessment day we will meet with you at our venue in Whitstable. We will ask you about your childhood including family background, schooling, and early medical history. We will find out about your lived experience, and your current strengths, differences and challenges. When possible, we will ask for information from a relative or friend who knew you in childhood. However, we understand that for our adult clients this is not always possible, for a variety of different reasons.
Throughout the assessment process, we will be exploring whether your experiences fit with the diagnostic criteria for autism, as set out in the DSM-5.
We will consider the assessment outcome immediately after we have met with you and we will then feedback the outcome to you as soon as we can. This will either be on the day of the assessment or as soon as we can afterwards.
Our detailed diagnostic report will be sent to you securely via email and you will be offered a follow up session as part of the assessment process. Recommendations and support suggestions are provided in our report regardless of the diagnostic outcome, tailored to fit your profile of individual needs.
