Dr Isobel Robb
Chartered Clinical Psychologist & Director
Dr Isobel Robb is a chartered clinical psychologist with experience spanning over twenty years. Isobel's expertise means that she has the skills to identify, assess and treat a broad range of mental health difficulties. She has a specialist interest in neurodevelopmental conditions. She previously worked in the Autism Assessment Service at the Behavioural Genetics Clinic, Institute of Psychiatry / South London & Maudsley NHS Trust. She has also worked as a senior psychologist in adult mental health NHS services in East Kent. She is trained in "gold standard" autism and ADHD diagnostic assessment tools.
Dr Robb also provides specialist assessments and therapies for people experiencing anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties, trauma, obsessional thinking patterns, rumination/worry, and phobias. She provides a safe and sensitive space for people to explore their challenges and identify ways of alleviating difficult thoughts and feelings. She is trained in compassion focused therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, EMDR, CBT and mindfulness.
Dr Robb gained her doctorate from Royal Holloway, University of London in 2005, where she completed her thesis on factors that influence suitability for cognitive behavioural therapy in autistic people.
Central to Dr Robb's work is her collaborative, compassionate and problem solving approach with every client. Through her assessment and therapy work she aims to help the individual understand and manage their difficulties, so that they can begin to take the steps needed towards living a life that is in line with their needs, values and goals.
Isobel offers supervision to clinicians and trainees, and is an accredited member of the Health Professions Council (www.hpc-uk.org).
