Dr Emma Girling is a Clinical Psychologist with over 25 years of experience across a wide range of settings, including many years working in NHS mental health and paediatric services. Throughout her career, she has specialised in supporting individuals who think differently, including autistic people, those with ADHD, and individuals with learning differences—across all ages.
Dr Girling offers a range of gold-standard, evidence-based assessments. She believes that receiving the right diagnosis can be a powerful and positive step—helping to make sense of past experiences and identify the support needed to thrive at every stage of life.
In therapy, Dr Girling draws on a number of therapeutic models to provide an individualised, effective approach. She is trained and accredited in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and has additional training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy, and Narrative Therapy.
She specialises in working with individuals affected by anxiety disorders and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). With extensive experience in NHS physical health settings, she also has a strong background in supporting people living with chronic pain and other physical health conditions that impact psychological wellbeing.
